💸 “It’s Not Worth My Time.”

I was talking with a client recently who’s dreaming of reaching Financial Independence -- that point when your investments can fully cover your living expenses.

But like many, they were spending more than they earned. So we started exploring strategies to earn more, spend less, and invest the difference.

One of my suggestions would’ve saved them about $55/month in taxes -- or $660/year -- and only required a one-time effort of 1-2 hours.

Their response?

👉 “It’s not worth my time.”

At first, I was speechless. But this mindset pops up more often than you’d think.

We’ve been trained to think in “hourly value” terms:

“If I make $X/hour, then I shouldn’t bother with anything that earns or saves me less -- because my time is valuable.”

But here’s where that logic breaks down:

1️⃣ Compounding changes the game

That $660/year invested consistently over time?

It’s not just a small win.

It’s a timeline accelerator toward financial independence. Stack a few of these small wins together, and you’re shaving years off towards reaching Financial Independence.

2️⃣ “Not worth my time” … really?
